Chinese giant Xiaomi will be turning five on March 31.
In a short period of time, the company impressively became one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the globe. According to IDC, Xiaomi is now the third largest smartphone maker in the world. And to celebrate its 5th birthday, Xiaomi will hold a media event to introduce new products.
Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi will be having a conversation with some invited domestic tech media for the launching of new Mi products on the end of the month.
Some are anticipating for the company to launch its own smartwatch during the event, and also the Xiaomi mid-ranger with codename ‘Ferrari’.
On its official page, the company relished how the company started and how it rose to heights. Taking into account is how Xiaomi China offered a 12-hour flash sale on April 8 last year. During this, 400, 000 units of Mi 3 and Mi 2S, 600, 000 units of RedMi phones along with other accessories were sold leading to a RMB 1.5 billion revenue.
As the company expanded to neighboring countries like HongKong, Taiwan and Xiaomi it held an annual Mi Fan Festival, and last year over 130k phones were sold in the three countries combined. Xiaomi Singapore offered free mobile clinic service and 13,000 sets of phones in stock for Mi fans, with 20% off a special new accessory.
Now, in line with its birthday celebration, the company is enticing its fans with more surprises asking them of how many new Mi products will be launched on March 31. The leading wild guess on the poll is that Xiaomi will launch more than three new products. Of course fans are really looking forward for more products from Xiaomi.
