We recently heard news about the Facebook 360-degree videos and it seems to dish out a lot of opportunities for marketers and advertising people to creatively launch and introduce their products. The uniquely delivered video could develop new profound ways of advertising certain products in a way that it’ll be more interactive to the viewers, rather than just simply watch the videos roll on. Lets dig in a little deeper on this immersive Oculus and Facebook collaboration, oh, we didn’t mention the well known VR team to be part of this, didn’t we? Yeah, there working with Facebook on the 360-degree approach on videos. Now, lets get to the serious part.

There are countless ways of getting up close and personal to a target market and one of the major ways of doing this is through social media. Throughout modern advertising and marketing, social media and digital has proven itself to be a worthy medium to initiate brand interaction and with the introduction of Facebook’s 360-degrees video, the possibilities of further brand interaction is endless.

Imagine this, you’re browsing through your news feed and a video of a pizza plays, you felt a bit hungry from the scenery and decided to press the video and watch it on full view. You see that the pizza has anchovies and almost dismisses it, since you hate anchovies, but before you did, you tried to check it out further, since it has 360-degree features, you flipped around and was able to see a lot more pizza’s with different flavours and immediately, your jaw dropped. the mouth-watering pepperoni was your favourite and immediately got immersed on the video. The video ends and you see the brand of the pizza place, obviously with the immersion and hungry, you’ll immediately take the heed of call and call the pizza place yourself. This is a good example as to how the 360-degrees videos gets the viewers more immersed on the product itself and increases brand interaction and recall tenfold, which will also play a huge deal in introducing various products into one particular medium. Meaning, advertising people and marketers will be available to use the 360-degree feature to showcase more that one of their company’s products, which will save them some time, money and overall effort.

A revisioned future of Facebook marketing and advertising

Facebook has emerged itself as one of the main go to’s in social media advertising and marketing mediums. Its clutches to people’s attention is pretty strong and getting people to see your product through this particular medium is a pretty strong trait of Facebook, not only as a social media site, but as a whole. The 360-degree video features will heightened this already amazing reach on people, with the introduction of up close and personal brand interaction, which would eventually lead to further brand recall. What holds for facebook in the future is yet to be determined, though, we think that marketing and advertising are going to play a huge role in maintaning facebook as one of the world’s leaders in social networking sites and in return, would be the no.1 go to for product brand interaction and brand recall overall.
