Grab's reason for difficulty in ride-booking

Are you one of the people who always book Grab rides on a daily basis? If you are, we’re sure you have experienced how difficult it is to book a ride from Grab these days. Now, Grab finally released a public announcement answering why it’s hard to book a ride from them.

Grab has been under fire since numerous commuters have been complaining about their services. It’s true that Uber were sometimes more cheaper and also faster and easier when booking a ride. Unfortunately, Uber is now out of the picture and commuters have to deal with Grab – even if it’ll take them 30 mins – an hour just to book one.

The company finally addressed the issue and posted it on their official Facebook page. According to Grab, the number of people requesting for Grab rides have doubled to more than 600,000 bookings daily. However, there are only 35,000 Grab and Uber cars combined.

In addition, Grab have been unable to completely transition around 6,000 Uber cars since as per regulation, the company cannot have on-board vehicles which are not part of the LTFRB audited masterlist. This has affected the company’s ability to give commuters a ride.

Grab then added to their post that they are working continuously with the relevant government agencies to on-board these displaced drivers at the soonest possible time, as well as find a long-term solution.

Here are some of Grab’s tips on how to effectively book a ride:

1. Book a GrabShare to free up more cars for your fellow Grabbers. You also save up with lower fares.

2. Take advantage of GrabCar’s Multi-Stop Feature.

3. Plan your trips and book ahead of time to skip the rush hour.
