HTC has officially announced and released the new mid-range HTC One X9 that packs a 5.5-inch FHD, stereo BoomSound speakers, MediaTek Helio X9 octa-core processor and 13MP camera capable of 4K video. All sounds good, but how does it stack up against the more established Sony Xperia M5 waterproof and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with a very attractive pricing? Is it better, faster (benchmarks and speed test) than those two? Let’s find out in our specs and features comparison below.

Xperia M5 pros over Redmi Note 3 and HTC One X9
- Sharper display (441 ppi vs 401 ppi)
- Waterproof and dust resistance design, IP68 certification
- Thinner body
- 21MP camera
Redmi Note 3 pros over Xperia M5 and HTC One X9
- More affordable / cheaper at Php 10k price ph
- Fingerprint sensor
The biggest advantage of the Redmi Note is the price and its fingerprint scanner. On Xperia M5, it has a bigger 21MP camera and 4K video as well as the IP68 rugged certification we found from Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact. HTC One X9 has stereo front-facing speakers or BoomSound, which we think is better than Xperia M5 and Note 3’s speakers, and a premium aluminum body.
If given a chance to own one, which phone between those three are you going to buy?
