Which is a better buy between the Samsung Galaxy A8s and Huawei Nova 4?
Based on the official images, the Huawei Nova 4 has a significantly smaller pinhole camera setup housing the 25MP sensor. While the Galaxy A8s isn’t too far ahead with its own 24MP pinhole selfie camera. From the back of things, both are sporting reflective glass but Huawei’s midrange device has a louder design.
One aspect you should look at when choosing between these two devices is the performance. The Galaxy A8s settles for a midrange Snapdragon 710 while the Nova 4 leaves that to dust with its Kirin 970 — a one-year-old but still powerful flagship SoC.
As for the triple main camera setup, Samsung makes do with its 24MP + 10MP + 5MP combo. As for Huawei, the base model gets you a 20MP + 16MP + 2MP combo while the top model switches the 20MP for a whopping 48MP lens.
When it comes to ports, we’re happy to report that both are using USB Type-C but you’re getting that rare audio jack on the Nova 4.
Battery-wise, the Nova 4 has a larger 3750mAh capacity and comes with a faster 18W charger compared to the fast adaptive charging of the Galaxy A8s for its 3400mAh.
Samsung Galaxy A8s is expected to retail for Php26,000 (6GB/128GB) while Huawei Nova 4 is officially priced at $400 or Php21,000+ for the 20MP model and $440 or Php24,000 for the 48MP model.
