This battle will be determined by design, display ,system performance, software and hardware, camera capabilities and storage capability.

Design

From the looks of things, the LG V10 hasn’t swayed that much away from the G4, but rather, a few tweaks are seen on its design. Primary changes where seen on its overall exterior design, with the G4’s leather body and the V10’s more durable and comfortable look. The V10 carries stainless steel framing and has a plastic- like material, which LG dubbed as the DuraSkin. For robustness, we can definitely say that the V10 packs a more serious punch, since the V10’s body is certified with a MIL-STD-810G shock protector, which can pretty much help the latter in the most stickiest situations.

A few changes on both devices are the V10’s fingerprint reading sensor, which apparently is not available in the G4 and a few capacitive features. In terms of handling comfortability, it seems that LG G4’s sophisticated leather design, shows a bit of edge of the duraskin’s comfy and sturdy back.

Display

For display, both the G4 and the V10 carries pride with its IPS LCD Quantum display with QHD resolution, however, the thing that differentiates these both device are there screens, to be specific, the G4’s 5.5-inch screen and the V10’s 5.7-inch screen, which eventually results in a slightly more different pixel density from one another (534 for the G4 and 517 for the V10).

However, the major thing that differs both this devices is the secondary screen present to the V10, which is something that you obviously won’t find on the G4. This 2.1-inch display with 106p resolution. We’ll tackle more on the LG V10’s secondary screen on the software section.

Performance

Apparently, by the looks of things the G4 and V10’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 ain’t necessarily something to look at for best performance. However, they’re main difference mainly revolves around its RAM capacity, which the G4 carries a 3GB RAM capacity, while the V10 offers a few extra firepower of 4GB of RAM.

Both devices should offer a smooth experience in performance overall, however, for us, we’ll consider the V10 to have the edge on this one, because its expected to be much more excellent, in terms of multi tasking and system capability.

Hardware

The LG G4 carries a 32GB internal storage, which was doubled on the V10, with the its 64GB built-in internal storage. However, both devices carry a microSD card slot in their arsenal, although, from the specs given to us, it seems that the V10 carries a munch more larger expandability rate of microSD storage, with the latter carrying a said 2TB expandability rate for microSD cards. This is exceptionally larger than the G4’s overall capacity rate, which is only roughly 128GB expandability rate for microSD cards.

As mentioned earlier, the V10 features a fingerprint sensor feature, which was not seen on the G4. This feature allows great security capability on your device, since its abruptly the source of locking and unlocking your device, using your Android pay and be able to perform different type of biometric-related authentication processes, for as long as its compatible to Android.

The LG V10 also introduces, something interesting, which is its HiFi technology. The HiFi technology simply detects any connected device on your LG V10 and provides sound control, so if you’re a music lover and loves to use different types of music – related mechanisms, then the HiFi system would totally help you out, in the mechanism’s sound control and quality.

Camera

lg g4 camera-2 review

The LG G4 has been praised here at ManilaShaker, for its grand camera capability and excellent output productivity rate, truly one of the best camera on a smartphones today. With that in mind, LG took this into consideration and applied all the beloved main camera capabilities of the G4 fo to the V10, which we are highly pleased of, and i’m sure that every LG fan is to. The LG V10 retains its 16MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture lens, backed up with laser autofocus assistance and OIS feature. The V10 also features the same manual controls as to the G4, so G4 users will truly feel right at home with the V10, in terms of main camera experience.

Now lets go to a more interesting subject, its front facing shooter. The V10 features quite an innovative approach on its front facing camera, with its dual-lens feature, which primarily serves as a wide angle lens, to maximize front-facing outputs and provide a feature wherein you can focus and autofocus an already taken image, which is truly neat actually.

Software

LG is expected to par up these 2 with almost the same features in software, which is highly reasonable, since both devices were recently introduced just this year and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and LG’s G UI, which is okay, to say to least. We are expecting to see a few new innovative things in the LG V10, mainly on its secondary screen.

When the main display is off, the 2nd display can feature a relative information, like the weather, time, battery and date. As soon as you turn on your main display, things will become more interesting, with the secondary display able to serve as a application shortcut place and update place. Say goodbye to the abrupt interruptions while playing some games or watching videos, because those things will be a thing of the past, with the LG V10

Conclusion and Verdict

There are a few good things that gave the LG V10 the edge over the G4, however, there aren’t any major leaps that can be considered influential to transition to an LG V10 from your LG G4. However, if your thinking whats the better buy on both devices, then i guess, we can offer you the LG V10, since it’ll be something that didn’t sway far from the G4’s overalls and has a few added features which to some might be interesting.
