OnePlus’ Dash Charge might not be available anymore in the future. The OnePlus 6 was recently launched last week with Dash Charge being one of its main features. The company is known for using this fast-charging technology that enables the user to charge their OnePlus device up to 60% in just 30 minutes. Unfortunately, recent reports suggest that the company might stop using the name, “Dash Charge”, in the near future.

This speculation appeared due to the fact that OnePlus did not mention the phrase even once during OnePlus 6’s launch. Furthermore, the names of their products in their official website have been changed to “Fast Charge”.

OnePlus Dash ChargeThe reason for this name change may be due to trademark issues. According to Android Police, OnePlus said they filed a trademark application in the EU and US for Dash Charge back in 2016 only for the EU trademark office to reject their application as two companies challenged it – one is Amazon and the other is Bragi, a wireless audio company.

Amazon uses the term “Dash” in their reordering service, Dash Replenishment, whereas, Bragi uses the word in their pair of wireless earbuds, the Dash Pro.

Due to recent events, OnePlus might fully drop the use of the phrase in all countries aside from India.
