After numerous rumors and speculations, Xiaomi has officially announced the Mi Mix 2S. The event was held in Shanghai, China.
The Mi Mix 2S is Xiaomi’s first flagship of 2018. The design of the device bears a resemblance to the Mi Mix 2‘s design. However, the Mi Mix 2S has a more upgraded hardware than its predecessor and it is the first Xiaomi phone that supports wireless charging.

Design and Display
The Mi Mix 2S features a 5.99″ LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. Its dimension measures 150.9 x 74.9 x 8.1 mm and weighs 191 g. The device kept the same design as the Mi Mix 2, thin bezels with a ceramic back, since the latter won some design awards last year. The handset is also available in two colors — Black and White.
Under the hood
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 845 along with eight Kyro 385 cores clocked up to 2.80GHz. The phone comes in two variants. The standard version has 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the high-end version has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery.
Camera Set-up
The Mi Mix 2S features dual 12MP rear cameras and its main camera contains Sony’s latest IMX 363 imaging sensor. As for the secondary camera, it has a telephoto lens that supports 2x lossless zoom. The phone also has a selfie camera with 5MP. Its camera setup includes an AI-assisted feature which will aid the user in picking the best shooting mode based on the lighting.
Price
The Mi Mix 2S will be priced depending on its variants. The 6GB RAM + 64GB variant will be priced at ¥3,299 (approx. Php 27,500) and the 6GB RAM + 128GB
variant will be priced at ¥3,599 (approx. Php 30,000). As for the 8GB RAM + 256GB variant, its price will be ¥3,999 (approx. Php 33,300).
