Hands down, many of us hate the fact that our country delivers one of the most slowest internet speed rating in the world. It’s a predicament that we all have to get used to, or, at least, find a better internet service though the problem on that part is that a bit faster service would be much costlier, which is not something that everyone would wanna consider. Let’s take a closer look at the issue and tackles its cause and effect.

The cause – The demand is bigger than the supply
The country is currently a growing, in terms of technological prowess and internet immersion. Which means slowly, but surely, the Philippines is already becoming well-exposed to the internet and its internet services. With this, though, the overflowing demand for internet services are slowly becoming quite a burden to some telcos companies here in the country.
We all demand a faster and efficient internet service from these companies though we don’t necessarily know the amount of people that are needed to satisfy the majority of internet users in the country, thus, these company’s resort in either partnering up with third party companies to maintain and solidify their services. Some companies, like San Miguel Food Corp, is seeing that the Telcos industry might be needing additional help in providing services and whether or not they have intentions far from simply helping out the industry, it’s surely something that the country needs.
As an everyday internet service user, I myself have found the ridiculously generic and sometimes poor services to be quite a huge burden to deal with, namely because we as consumers are paying for these services. However, we can hide the fact that we’re not the only ones that are using these internet services. The majority of PH inhabitants are internet users now and internet algorithms and whatnot are much more complicated than what we thought.
The Effect – The overflowing anger of the masses
As mentioned, thanks to the increased amount of users every single day, the demand and competition for internet service prowess have become staggeringly serious. People would often time put all the blame in the world to the company’s that have been providing the service and since it’s normal for a paying customer to be pissed at an unsatisfactory service, this is legitimately something that the company needs to take action off. This will hopefully lead to various companies joining in the telcos industry and take advantage of this increase in demand for internet services.
Once this booms out, competition between companies will surely be considered at an all-time high, making some of the smaller internet providers go out of business or at the safest point, be absorbed by other companies in a sheer desperate attempt to continue on. When this happens, foreign internet providers might be well engrossed by this massive demand and would slowly affiliate themselves with the PH companies and would lead to a rather unfulfilling end for the PH telcos companies that will be under foreign guidance.

Worse thing is they keep selling and selling and selling us products that consume more internet and the services keeps dwindling down to an all time low! How can we just sit back and not do anything at all! While they continue to rake in the profits?
